At this Millville, New Jersey home, the job notes identified a damper that needed replacement. Chimney 911 Chimney Sweep installed a cap damper and carried out fireplace cleaning and smoke chamber parging as part of the same project.

A Cap Damper with an Interior Control
The damper portion of the project included a cap damper at the chimney top. The photographs show the rooftop assembly and its operating chain and handle inside the fireplace. An interior view also shows the cable running through the chimney passage.
Cleaning and Smoke Chamber Parging
The project also included fireplace cleaning and smoke chamber parging. We coated and smoothed the interior surfaces of the smoke chamber. The close interior photograph documents this area alongside the damper installation, bringing the different parts of the project together in one case study.
